Chelsea FC boss Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly keen on signing for Eden Hazard should they fail to tempt Jack Rodwell away from Everton.

Villas-Boas is eye on signing £20million rated Rodwell, while Everton boss David Moyes earlier this week admitted the west London club were yet to make contact over a possible January transfer bid.

According to the report on Wednesday recommits that, Rodwell will hold discussion with his manager in the next fortnight to discuss his future at Goodison Park club as he believes a move away from the club.

However, Villas-Boas may fail to sign Rodwell then he will make a move for Lille playmaker Hazard, who is a target for a number of big clubs from across Europe. Earlier this week, it was reported that Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and along with Manchester United, all sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action last weekend, as the race to sign the Belgium international goes up.

Eden Hazard has been connected with a move to the English Premier League throughout the season, with Arsenal generally thought to be topping the race to sign him next year, although Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keen.

But, Chelsea are told to have observed the Belgium international no less than five times this season, while reports in France have recommended Manchester City are preparing to launch a £30 million bid in January.

Hazard confirmed last month that, he will leave Lille next year and last week stated he has no idea on who he will be signing for. But he admits that, he wants to develop and play for the greatest sides in the world and he do all he can to achieve that.

Chelsea will play host to Manchester City this evening in the English Premier League (2011-2012 EPL) football game between Chelsea (4th) and Manchester City (1st) kicks off – 20:00 GMT on 12th December 2011 at Stamford Bridge, England.

In the last round of Premier League, the Chelsea team managed to crush Newcastle United with 3-0 and claim the 4th place with, 2 points ahead of Arsenal. The Blues has gathered 28 points in 14 games, scoring 31 goals and conceding 17 so far.

Chelsea has played 7 EPL games this season on Stamford Bridge. On home ground, Chelsea has won 5, drawn 0 and lost 2 games, and this ranked the Blues 5th in home team performance in the English Premier League.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas misses long-term injury victim Michael Essien, who is not likely to be back until January. The Blues side is also without defender David Luiz, who is suspended after picking up his 5th domestic yellow card of the season in last weekend’s victory at Newcastle. Michael Essien (knee injury) remains a long-term absentee, while Josh McEachran (ankle injury) is ruled out.

Manchester City remains the only unbeaten side in Premier League this season, and appears like nobody can stop them. If there’s a side that can hold them off, Chelsea would be it. The difference between both teams is 10 points, where the Citizens has won 12 games and drawn 2, scoring 48 goals and conceding 13 so far.

City has played 7 Premier League games this season away from home. On away ground, Manchester City has won 5, drawn 2 and lost 0 games, and this ranked the Citizens 1st in away team performance in the English Premier League.

Man City has scored as many goals (48), as they have no other team so far. Mario Balotelli has managed to score seven times in his last nine Premier League appearances. Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini must decide on whether Stefan Savic retains his position at full-back or whether Pablo Zabaleta comes in for Richards.

Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Romeu, Lampard, Sturridge, Drogba and Mata.

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Toure, Barry, Silva, Balotelli and Aguero.

Chelsea are coming off the back of a defeat and will be concerned for the victory to keep speed in the title race, while Arsenal are starting to pick up a bit of form and are up to 7th in the table.

Chelsea suffered with a 1-0 score defeat to Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in the west London fixture last Sunday. They were down to nine men for large periods in what was a very heated affair between the two teams.

Chelsea to continue winning form at home ground, currently taking the 3rd position with 19 points in 9 games. The Blues has played four Premier League games this season on Stamford Bridge road. On home ground, Chelsea has W4 D0 L0, scoring 12 goals and conceding 4 in those games.

They will be without Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba for the Arsenal game after both saw red card at Loftus Road. The defeat was Chelsea’s second in the league this season and they now track leaders Manchester City by six points.

Arsenals are starting to look a bit brighter from the start of the season. They have finally got back into the top-half of the Premier League table after winning two on the bounce in the league.

Arsenals are currently taking the 7th position with 13 points in 9 games. Arsene Wenger’s side has played four Premier League games this season away from home. On away ground, Arsenals has W0 D1 L3, scoring 6 goals and conceding 14 in those games.

Their most recent was a 3-1 fantastic victory against Stoke City at the Emirates last Sunday in another game, where Robin Van Persie outstanding. The Dutchman got on the score sheet twice to bring his tally of goals to seven in nine games.

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) will match-up with Chelsea in the Barclays Premiere League. QPR vs Chelsea live match will kick-off at 15:00 GMT at Loftus Road on Sunday, October 23, 2011, 2011/2012 Barclays Premier League.

Chelsea can gain ground in the title race, if they can get the triumph on Sunday’s game. They travel to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers, who currently sitting 11th place in the league after taking nine points from eight games so far.

Players such as Fernando Torres and Frank Lampard, who were under-performing last league season are now booming under Chelsea boss Villas-Boas. Frank Lampard lately scored a hat-trick over Bolton, while Fernando Torres bagged two goals over Genk in the UEFA Champions League midweek.

Queens Park Rangers has had their own alteration at their club lately with a new owner coming in but, they have had a mixed experience so far.

New players brought to the QPR club have surely improved the team but results have not really gone QPR’s way and they have two draws at home ground and a 6-0 loss away from home to Fulham in their last three Premier League game. It still is not time for QPR to fright because they are still picking up points and there are inferior sides out there in the league than them, who will be relegation zone this season.

Queen’s Park Rangers Squad: Kenny, Young, Ferdinand, Hall, Traore, Derry, Faurlin, Wright-Phillips, Barton, Mackie, Helguson, Murphy, Orr, Taarabt, Bothroyd, Buzsaky, Smith, Puncheon.

Chelsea Squad: Cech, Ivanovic, A Cole, Luiz, Essien, Ramires, Lampard, Torres, Mata, Drogba, Mikel, Malouda, Meireles, Bosingwa, Ferreira, Kalou, Turnbull, Sturridge, Terry, Alex, Bertrand, Anelka, Hilario.

Daniele De Rossi has one year left on his contract with Roma and a new deal is yet to be agreed. He has put Chelsea and Manchester City on red alert by freezeing on a new contract. However, Roma coach Luis Enrique is eager to tie down De Rossi on a long-term contract after speaking with the midfielder over his future.

The Serie A team told prior this week that, they were confident of agreeing an extension with the 28-year-old in the next few days, although CEO Claudio Fenucci prior this month revealed that an offer had been on the bench for some time.

But, Man City manager admits it is expected that the Italy international, who has also been linked with rivals Manchester United and he will remain at the Stadio Olimpico. Mancini has gushed that he would like to bring the key-player to Eastlands along with Samir Nasri, who is far anticipated to complete his deal from Arsenal in the next 24 hours.

Mancini told the sources: I need something else in midfield because we have limited options and I have De Jong, Milner, Barry and Toure but if you consider the number of games in the league, the FA Cup and the Champions League that is not enough.

Daniele De Rossi would be absolutely perfect for this squad and I rate him as one of the finest midfielders in the world. But, I also have the doubt that his career stay will be entire Rome, just like Francesco Totti has done.

FC Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara was a transfer target for Real Madrid before he signed a new contract with the Catalans.

The Spain Under-21 international father has claimed 20-year-old Alcantara this week ended speculation about his future by signing a two-year deal extension at Camp Nou.

The FC Barcelona midfielder had also been linked with a move to Manchester United, the Premier League champions, with reports last week stating that, the Red Devils had made a £15 million bid for the youngster.

But, after recently being commented as saying he would like to play for Chelsea, Alcantara has put pen-to-paper on a new deal with Barcelona, which ties him to the club until 2015.

However, according to his father, Real Madrid was interested in signing the highly-rated Spaniard. Sources said.

Of the new deal, the 45-year-old midfielder father added: “Barcelona called us on Tuesday and they had the deal almost completely written. We came to an agreement quickly.

He is enchanted with his new contract; he wants to stay at FC Barcelona for the rest of his life.

I never doubted that Thiago would stay. The club had always called us, given us that quiet, that security, and had always wanted to end that entire story.

And as part of the contract, Alcantara now has a €90 million release clause.

Manchester City has apparently stated that they will have to pay £36 million to sign Porto striker Hulk, who has also been linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has a €100 million release clause in his contract with the Europa League winners, but it has been notion for some time that Porto would sell him for a lower fee must the player request a move.

Hulk only signed a new deal with the club last month, but speculations has increased in recent time that he will be playing in the Premier League next season, largely as a effect of the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas as new Chelsea manager.

Hulk last week was quoted as saying, if there is a good opportunity for me and for the club, a transfer could take place this summer, even though his agent later told he was yet to receive any offers about a possible contract.

Chelsea are still alleged to be interested in the Brazilian, even though Villas-Boas is thought to be more interested in signing his strike partner – Falcao.

That might open the door to a move to Eastlands and according to the sources, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has been said he has to pay a club record £36 million to land the highly-rated forward.

Mancini is considering a bid for Hulk, in case he misses-out on Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez, who is also a target for Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona.

The contract would beat Man City’s earlier record of £32.2 million, which they paid Real Madrid for another Brazilian – Robinho three years ago.
