Megan Rapinoe is expected to miss five weeks after the forward for the NWSL’s Seattle Reign and U.S. Women’s National team had arthroscopic surgery to repair a meniscus tear in her left knee Friday. Rapinoe, who leads the NWSL with 12 goals, felt something was wrong with her knee after the United States’ match against Japan on Aug. 3, Reign FC said. The Reign, who are battling for the fourth and final playoff spot in the NWSL, are hopeful that Rapinoe could return for the final two regular-season games in late September. She had surgery in December 2015 after tearing the ACL in her right knee. Rapinoe led the U.S. attack in the recent Tournament of Nations, as the team scored seven goals against
