Liverpool returns home to Anfield stadium for the semi-final, second-leg of their Carling Cup football game against Manchester City with 1-0 lead kicks off 19:45 on Wednesday (Jan. 25). Steven Gerrard gave the Merseyside club the fabulous victory in the first game with a penalty-kick goal.

Currently, Liverpool is taking the 7th place in the Premier League table, and from the looks of it will not be able to grab a top four position this season as well. Merseyside’s home form divines well for them going into the second leg. While they have drawn seven out of their eleven home games in the Premier League, they are so far to lose at Anfield ground.

Despite the fact that Liverpool managed to triumph the first game of this semi-final with 1-0 goal on Etihad Stadium, the side tied their Premier League game over Stoke City at home ground, and lost to Bolton on Saturday with 1-3.

Liverpool has played 11 Premier League games this season on Anfield. On home ground, Liverpool has won 4, drawn 7 and lost 0 games, and this ranked the Reds 8th in home side performance in the English Premier League.

However, Liverpool is the most winning side in League Cup history, having won the title seven times, and their most recent win came in 2003.

Manchester City side is credibly leading in Premier League with 54 points, 3 ahead of Man. United, and can put some extra effort in this game as well, to reach the Carling Cup final, which would be against a side from the Championship.

City has played 11 Premier League games this season away from home. On away ground, Manchester City has won 6, drawn 3 and lost 2 games, and this ranked the Citizens 3rd in away side performance in the English Premier League.

Manchester City has not been perfect in recent weeks either. Since 2012 New Year, they have won only 3 of their 7 games in all competitions.

Possible Line-Ups:

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Gerrard, Adam, Henderson, Rodriguez, Carroll and Bellamy.

Manchester City: Hart, Richards, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Silva, Aguero, Nasri and Dzeko.
