After Crystal Palace strike with 1-0 victory against Cardiff City in the first-leg at Selhurst Park, City will play host to Palace tonight in a semi-final of the Carling Cup tournament kicks off 19:45 GMT on 24 January 2012 at Cardiff City Stadium.
The Bluebirds have won thirteen of their seventeen home ground matches this term and will think their chances of turning the tables and securing a third visit to Wembley in five seasons. Going into a home match, Cardiff can turn it around, mainly considering our 2-0 victory in the league fixture at the Cardiff City Stadium earlier in the season.
Cardiff has no new injury problems concerns following their 3-2 victory against Portsmouth in the Championship at the weekend. Manager Malky Mackay’s only suspicions are full-back Kevin McNaughton (calf Injury) and striker Rudy Gestede (ankle Injury), who will be assent ahead of kick-off.
Crystal Palace travel to Cardiff City Stadium with a one-goal lead from the first-leg game, as the Manager Dougie Freedman’s side are on an surprising run of 21 games in which there have been fewer than four goals.
In contrast, Palace surrendered a 1-0 lead with just five minutes remaining to lose at Blackpool in final in 2010 and also the FA Cup Final in 2008 to Portsmouth. Palace boss is set to return a number of first-side regulars, who were rested for the league defeat at Blackpool.
Dougie Freedman is boosted by the return from Sean Scannell from ban, while Alex Marrow and Dean Moxey are on top form again and both in disputation.
