Becks Is Back! David Beckham has re-signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy, approving to a new two-year contract with the Major League Soccer club. The 36-year-old’s five-year deal expired last month and he had been connected with a move to Paris St Germain just months after leading the side to the MLS Cup.

David Beckham new contract that is set to run till 2013 MLS season, and the club unveiled that the contract on its official website on Wednesday. This was an important decision for me, Beckham told. He has seen first hand how popular soccer is now in the States and he’s as dedicated as ever to growing the game.

Beckham’s original 5-year deal with the side expired on Dec. 31. The midfielder was connected with a move to multiple English Premier League clubs and Paris Saint-Germain, but he eventually determined it would be best for his clan to remain in Calif.

The Galaxy’s board had unveiled previous this month that the club was working on a new deal to keep Beckham in MLS club. Since then, his revisit has been all but a certainty. Bruce is thrilled that David has selected to rejoin the Galaxy, mainly as he had many options where he could continue his career – Galaxy general manager and head coach Bruce Arena stated.

David Beckham’s new contract will begin in March 2012. The Galaxy will be looking to triumph their second straight MLS Cup after defeating the Houston Dynamo in the championship match in November 2011.

The former England skipper has 31 assists to go along with 11 goals in 74 career regular season matches with the LA Galaxy. Their first match of the 2012 MLS season is on March 10 at home ground against Real Salt Lake.
