FIFA World Cup championship official theme songs are the greatest and far best song ever from other World Cup. Here’s our list of the most memorable World Cup anthems in modern pop from 1990 to 2010.
1990 – Italy: “Un’estate italiana” is a 1990 song in Italian language recorded by Italian artists Gianna Nannini and Edoardo Bennato. The song clip, also known under the label “Notti magiche”, was written by Giorgio Moroder for the 1990 FIFA World Cup held in Italy.
1994 – USA: “Gloryland” has become a 1994 hit song by Sounds of Blackness and Daryl Hall. The song also seems on the official FIFA album Gloryland under the title ‘Soccer Rocks the Globe.’
1998 – France: “The Cup of Life” is a famous song recorded by Puerto Rican singer, Ricky Martin that was included on his fifth album, Ricky Martin in 1998.
2002 – South Korea & Japan: The 2002 FIFA World Cup Official anthem by Vangelis and created and mixed by Takkyu Ishino is the theme video song for 2002 FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan.
2006 – Germany: “Celebrate the Day” is a song in Herbert Grönemeyer featuring Mariam Doumbia and Amadou Bagayoko that was approved as an official theme pop song for the 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany.
2010 – South Africa: “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, in English, and “Waka Waka (Esto es África)” in Spanish, is a never forgettable song by Shakira featuring freshly ground. The song will be performed by Shakira and South African group Freshly-ground, at the Closing Ceremony before the 2010 World Cup Final on July 11 in Johannesburg Soccer City Stadium.
