But Rooney, who scored twice for Manchester United on Sunday afternoon in a fantastic 3-2 goal score in the FA Cup 3rd round victory at City, insisted he had no plans to leave Old Trafford club. He also scored either team of a Danny Welbeck goal as United led with 3-0 score at half-time, with Man. City having had skipper Vincent Kompany sent off early in the match.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini’s team fought back after the break, with Sergio Aguero and Aleksandar Kolarov on target in a match, which saw United hanging on at the end.
Rooney had made a point of grasping the Man Utd symbol on his shirt after opening the goal scoring, but when asked after the game if he had a point to prove, he told the sources that, Not at all.
Everything that has been in the press of late is a load of non-sense really. There is no problem for him at Sir Alex club, and wants to be at this club for a long time. Ferguson also admitted that, he had no problem with Rooney and warned the former Everton striker he had to be trained to get used to negative press coverage.
