Queens Park Rangers have dismissed Neil Warnock as a QPR manager after less than two years in charge.
Warnock took charge of the QPR club in March 2010 but was reassured of his duties on Sunday with Rangers 17th in the English Premier League table with just 17 points from their first 20 games.
A statement on the QPR club’s official site stated as, The Board’s commitment to retaining our English Premier League status ultimately led to this crucial decision. QPR chairman Tony Fernandes gushed that, this decision has been made in the best interests of the Club and he can declare everyone that this is not a decision that was made lightly.
Sadly, QPR men’s recent run of poor form has appear them slip alarmingly down the premiership table and the Board commitment felt it was the right time to make a change. Neil has acted with sincerity and integrity throughout his time at the Club, and he would personally like to thank him for his significant contribution to QPR club over the last 22 months.
Neil added that, obviously he’s very disappointed, but having achieved so much, he leaves the Rangers club with a great sense of pride. He has enjoyed his time here more than anywhere else and the QPR fans have been brilliant with him – they earn success.
He also added that, the board at QPR is vastly ambitious and he wishes them every success for the future games. He has been involved in the match a long time and he will be spending the instant future with his clan and pals before deciding his next career move.
Assistant manager Mick Jones and first side coach Keith Curle have also left the Queens Park Rangers club.
