Benfica forward winger Nicolas Gaitan allegedly stated that he is keen to joining Manchester United in the January transfer.
United were connected with the 23-year-old last summer and in recent weeks are supposed to have changed their interest, with the last month reporting that Sir Alex Ferguson’s team are close to securing a £29.3 million contract to sign the Argentina international.
According to the sources – Although a contract is yet to be confirmed, Gaitan’s agent, Jose Irribaran has recently admitted that discussions about a January transfer have taken place. And now Gaitan himself has keen on the Red Devils club to make a bid for him.
He said that, ever since the pre-season, it has been told that Manchester United is following him. Then, Benfica met Man. United in the UEFA Champions League group stage and he did not anticipate that Ferguson would discuss about him before and after the match.
He said Benfica had good key players and named – Gaitan, which is something that makes him very happy. He did not guess to be praised by a coach like him, and we all know what he represents in football-world.
Nicolas Gaitan was proud that one of the best clubs in the world wants him, but he’s only thinking about Benfica. If the transfer happens, it has to be good for Benfica and himself. Inside reports in Spain have recommended that Barcelona are also keen on signing Nicolas after sending scouts to watch him in action last month.
