Chelsea FC are allegedly ready to sell £50 million striker Fernando Torres in the January window transfer for just £20 million. AC Milan and Inter Milan are believed to be eye on Torres next month.
Fernando Torres has struggled for form and goals, since his record move to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool at the start of this 2011 year, and information in recent weeks have suggested that the Spain international could be on the move in the New Year.
According to the sources, Chelsea is now ready to take a huge financial beat on the 27-year-old by offloading him – when the transfer window reopens on January 1, 2012. Several clubs from Spain and Italy are alleged to be interested in Torres, including former club Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus.
As well as, the Spanish La Liga challengers Malaga, who have also shown interest in the forward in recent weeks. Clubs including Milan were said to be considering January loan deals for Torres, but according to inside reports, Chelsea have now given up with their efforts to rebuild his confidence and instead of looking to let him move for 6 months will seek a permanent contract.
When Andre Villas-Boas was selected as manager in the summer, he was convinced he could get the club’s record signing to return to the kind of form that turned him into a household name at Liverpool.
Though, Villas-Boas is set to lose Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba next year and possibly Salomon Kalou. Torres remains following Daniel Sturridge in the pecking order and it seems that should he stay at the club beyond January transfer, he will continue to be reduced to a substitute’s role.
