Arsenal’s Andre Santos Ruled Out for Ankle Injury!

Arsenal’s Andre Santos is set to miss out on the next three months of football matches, as the defender is set to undergo surgery for his right ankle injury.
The Brazilian international was initially alleged to be ready to get back on the field over the course of the next twenty days, but it appears like he will now have to undergo surgery on his ankle. The full back went on to pick-up the knock in the Gunners UEFA Champions League game over Olympiakos.
The defender was part of the side that lost by three goals to one in the match, but still went on to progress from the group stages on top of their group. It was firstly supposed that his injury wasn’t as major as it is and is going to force the player to be ruled out the rest of the season on the recovery table.
An official statement read as, which was unveiled by the club on their website about the extent of the injury to the player, it was quoted as – Following investigations and subsequent medical opinions by Club specialists, Andre Santos will undergo surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle.
The defender has now gone on to connect the likes of Kieran Gibbs, Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson on the sidelines and in theory all four of Gunners’ full backs are now out injured, with some major injuries.
However, with the January transfer window now forthcoming, the Arsenal’s could potentially seen forward to bringing in a player or two to reimburse for the lack of full backs in the side. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already gone on to tip-off that there might be a player deals at the Emirates at the turn of the year.
