2011 FIFA Ballon d’Or Awards Nominees Revealed

The nominees for this year’s FIFA Ballon d’Or Award for the Best Player of 2011 and for the FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year 2011 award were revealed today at a press conference held at the headquarters of France Football magazine in Paris.
The FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke, former French player Emmanuel Petit, France Football CEO François Morinière and Gaëtane Thiney, French international football player, took part in the nominee’s announcement.
The male nominees for the 2011 FIFA Ballon d’Or Award are Lionel Messi (Argentina), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and Xavi (Spain), while Homare Sawa (Japan), Marta (Brazil) and Abby Wambach (USA) will competition the 2011 women’s award.
The candidates for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men’s Football and FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football awards were also revealed, and the nominees are Alex Ferguson (Scotland), Josep Guardiola (Spain) and José Mourinho (Portugal) for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men’s Football award and Bruno Bini (France), Norio Sasaki (Japan) and Pia Sundhage (Sweden) for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football award.
FIFA Puskás Award has more three nominees for the most Beautiful Goal of the Year that were also revealed and they are Lionel Messi (Argentina), Wayne Rooney (England) and Neymar (Brazil).
All the 2011 FIFA Ballon d’Or awards will be presented at the FIFA Ballon d’Or, which will be took place at the Kongresshaus in Zurich, FIFA’s home city, on 9th January 2012.
