The English Carling Cup 2011 football match between Manchester United and Crystal Palace kicks off at 19:45 GMT on Nov. 30, 2011 at Old Trafford, England.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to ring the changes for this League Cup quarter-final, but it appears to be too soon for Danny Welbeck, who is still distress with a muscle injury and Michael Owen is certainly out with a thigh injury.

Sir Alex has won his first major title at Manchester United, when they knock Crystal Palace with 1-0 score in the 1990 FA Cup final replay. The average age of United’s teams so far in this competition has been 26 versus Leeds and just 24 against Aldershot.

Manchester United toured through to the quarter-finals with a 3-0 fabulous victory against League Two side Aldershot with goals from Michael Owen, Dimitar Berbatov and Antonio Valencia.

Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman will have to choose on whether to play a full strength team against Premier League champions Manchester United. In earlier rounds of the Carling Cup this season the Palace boss has chosen to play a few of the edge players, including Stuart O’Keefe, Jon Williams and Lewis Price.

Freedman side has beat fellow Championship team Southampton in the last round, goals from Jermaine Easter and Darren Ambrose sealed with a 2-0 fantastic victory against the league leaders.

Crystal Palace are a strong team away from home ground this season, as they have won four out of their nine away games but only average one goal per game on their travels.
