Not a bad reason for the Frenchman to delight, as he went round congratulating his team-mates at the end. City beat the Arsenal with 1-0 in the Carling Cup quarter-finals thanks to a goal from substitute Sergio Aguero.
But, the celebrations turned bitter after the final whistle, with a row between Samir Nasri and Arsenal’s Emmanuel Frimpong spilling-off the pitch, as the players went down the tunnel. A Gunners rep. was admitted as saying that, Words were exchanged, that was that – There were no punches thrown, but there was a lot of sound.
Sami Nasri was speaking in French langague, Manny was not. But, they didn’t even touch. It was handbags. Frimpong had earlier blasted Nasri for moving to the Etihad Stadium, stating the France international was driven by money to move to Manchester City.
The 24 year-old, striker had been the subject of abuse from Arsenal fans throughout the game and City boss Roberto Mancini told afterwards that, He thinks Nasri can play better, and it maybe affected him.
Nasri is a very top player, and maybe it is because it is the first time he has come back to Arsenal. It’s not easy for him after being here for a few seasons. He thinks he has yet to find his best form. It was the same for the other players that arrived last season, for Edin Dzeko and David Silva for two months they had a problem.
