Didier Drogba has refused Chelsea’s latest contract offer of a January move to AC Milan, but want to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Ivory Coast international striker, 33, is in the final season of his £120,000-a-week contract and has turned down a 12-month extension. He is out of contract at the end of the season and a number of clubs from across Europe are alleged to be monitoring developments at the club.
AC Milan and rivals Inter Milan are both keen on signing the 33-year-old, while motivated Russian team Galatasaray, Anzhi Makhachkala and Tottenham Hotspurs are also keep observing on his contract situation.
Drogba’s agent Thierno Seydi, based in Senegal, admitted that, the Ivory Coast striker has turned down the chance to join AC Milan on loan in January transfer, but has stated that the forward could be open to big-money offers from Qatar, Russia and the United States.
But, Drogba is still supposed to be eager on finishing in London, and at Chelsea if possible. Milan came in for Didier, but the agent Seydi told no straightaway. Their offer for a loan with an option to buy did not interest us.
He’s had the offer of a one-year extension deal from Chelsea, but that does not suit. At his age, he has nothing left to show as a player. Once he’s well into his thirties, he has to go to a club where he can be certain you will be able to pay his bills.
Didier Drogba will go where he is offered large amount money. It could be the United States, Russia, Qatar or somewhere in Asia. He will go wherever he feels good from a financial point of view. Los Angeles Galaxy is a possibility.
