Benfica Offers a New Contract to Pablo Aimar?

Benfica are reportedly going to offer their star player Pablo Aimar with a new contract in the upcoming months, despite his age.
The attacking midfielder has been a key player for the Reds, has been one of the most reliable and attack minded players in Liga Sagres. The 32-year-old signed for Benfica in 2008 year and has since then lighted up the Estadio da Luz with his dazzling skills.
The former Real Zaragoza man utilizes his static ability on the goal to drift past defenders and unlock even the sternest of back-lines. Also forming a deadly partnership with Oscar Cardozo, Aimar has not scored on a regular basis but, his game includes much more than finding the back of the net.
In order to reward the Ex- Argentina International player for his commitment on the pitch and secure his services for another season, the Lisbon outfit is preparing to offer the former Valencia man a new contract in the upcoming months.
Earlier, The Eagles managed to triumph the Primeira Liga in 2010 year, fixing the challenge of arch-rivals, FC Porto. While they did not repeat their feats the following campaign, Benfica have remained in conflict for title, partly due to Aimar’s attacking talents.
Aimar’s existing contract ends next season and the club is looking to extend his stay at the Stadium of Light for at least another term. Although details of the alleged proposal are not unveiled, it is likely that both parties will be able to reach an agreement.
However the midfielder recently made statement regarding his future in the game and unveiled that although he was determined to play, he knew that his career cannot last forever and he would have to quite finally.
While Pablo Aimar is still of massive value to Benfica and they will be resolute to sign him up for another season.
