Manchester United, AC Milan eye on Javi Garcia

Manchester United is allegedly interested in signing a contract with the Benfica central defender Javi Garcia.
The former Real Madrid midfielder, who moved to Portugal in 2009 year, has impressed for Benfica since making the move to the Estadio da Luz in a £6 million contract.
According to sources, the Spanish footballer his performances have caught the eye, with English Premier League champions, Manchester United considering a bid for the £10 millions rated player in January transfer.
But, they could face competition from Italy, with Serie A champions – AC Milan also alleged to be keen on signing the former Spain Under-21 international. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has a number of midfielders available to him, but it is thought that he is concerned in luring one or two new faces to Old Trafford when the transfer window opens in the fall.
Primarily a defensive midfielder, the 24-year-old Garcia has also filled in at centre-half during his career. Garcia has settle for CA Osasuna on 31 August, 2007 signing for four-years seasons for a fee of €2.5 million as the Navarre team was keen to replace injury-struck midfielder Javad Nekounam.
García’s contract included a buy-back part that might see him return to Real Madrid for €4 million. He signed for S.L. Benfica in Portugal on 21 July 2009, for five years and a fee of €7 million.
