Manchester City has suspended Argentine star Carlos Tevez on Wednesday as he refused to come on as a substitute in the UEFA Champions League tie against Bayern Munich.
Manchester City’s big night in the UEFA Champions League finished with crash on the pitch and problems off for boss Roberto Mancini, as Bayern Munich maintained their fantastic record against English teams with a 2-0 triumph.
On Wednesday, Tevez denied he had refused to go on as a substitute, when instructed by manager Roberto Mancini, who had told after the match which they lost with 2-0 score – Tevez was “finished” at the club.
However, the club decisive it was best he stayed away while they carried out their investigation. “Manchester City can confirm that star-striker Carlos has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks. The player’s was suspension is pending a full review into his suspected conduct in Wednesday evening’s defeat to Bayern Munich.” Soreces revealed.
Carlos Tevez had denied Mancini’s claims in a statement prior on Wednesday. “In Munich on Tuesday, I had warmed up and was all set to play. This is not the right time to get into explicit details, as to why this did not happen. But, I wish to state that, I never refused to play,” Tevez admitted.
Tevez added: He blamed his failure to appear on confusion on the ManCity bench and apologized to the club’s fans for any misunderstanding. “I would like to apologies to all Man. City fans, with whom I have always had a strong relationship, for any misunderstanding that occurred in Munich.”
Mancini later gushes that he would be speaking with Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak in the next few days to decide, what to do with Carlos Tevez.
