Arsenal star player Peter Storey thinks manager Arsene Wenger has lost the plan following his deadline day signings. Gunner’s team has won with 1-0 at home to Swansea on Saturday, September 10 in their first league match since being knocked with 8-2 at Manchester United. That record overcome is usually believed to have lead to the Frenchman jumping to sign Mikel Arteta, Per Mertesacker and Park Chu-Young shortly before the summer transfer window closed.
But, Peter Storey has made 501 appearances for the Arsenal in the 1960s and 70s, has alleged the new faces brought in by Wenger are not quality ones. Arsenal had a bad start and it seems like Arsene has frighten and he does not normally do that, does he? Storey told the local reporters.
He seems to have lost the plan. I mean, some of the people he has bought, they are not top quality, really. With Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas gone, you look at the team and it does not seem that strong. Thomas Vermaelen’s recent injury is going to be a big blow to the team, since he is one of the fine players they have got, so is Jack Wilshere’s ankle problem.
Speaking previous to the victory against Swansea, Arsene Wenger had refused to disclose that the Old Trafford loss lead to him looking for new players, and stood by his transfer window policy. We did, what I believe is right the way to do it, Wenger told. Unfortunately, the transfer deadline makes things happen and possible.
