Arsenal FC is seemingly engrossed in signing up with the Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol, ahead of the next week transfer deadline. The Gunners are keen on strengthening their back four before the transfer window closes and a number of centre-backs currently playing in the Premier League have been linked with a move to the Emirates over the summer.
Wenger was linked with a move for the Spain international during the January transfer window after he failed to secure a regular first-team place at the Bernabeu last season under Jose Mourinho.
The former Valencia defender had been a major part of the Real side under former coach Manuel Pellegrini, but under the Special One has fallen behind Pepe, Ricardo Carvalho and even right-back Sergio Ramos in the pecking order in central defence.
Valencia are also said to be interested in taking Albiol back to the Mestalla before the end of the month. Wenger is also still believed to be interested in Everton centre-back Phil Jagielka along with Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Blackburn centre-back Christopher Samba.
