Chelsea FC is allegedly ready to step up their attention in Alexandre Pato by initiating a £30 million bid for the AC Milan forward.
Speculations prior to this week stated that, the Blues were allowing a bid for the Brazil international who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time.
According to the sources, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will look to convince owner Roman Abramovich to part with £20 million plus either Salomon Kalou or Nicolas Anelka, with each being esteemed by the club at £10 million.
The 21-year-old forward has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time, with news several months ago signifying the club were preparing a summer bid.
Villas-Boas is gazing for a way to get the best out of £50 million striker Fernando Torres next season and Pato is apparently seen as someone, who might become a key part of a new attacking trio, as ‘AVB’ looks to use a 4-3-3 arrangement next season.
AC Milan are consider to be prepared to let Alexandre go, particularly with the option to sign a player as part of the contract – while the Serie A champions are also staring to sign Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli from Manchester City side.
Milan could end the unhappy Italian’s spell in Manchester this month, with information suggesting an AC loan contract is on the cards.
Alexandre Pato has so far taken part in the 2011 Copa América tournament and has scored a outstanding brace in the group stage against Ecuador.
