Mohamed Bin Hammam – The former FIFA presidential candidate stated on Saturday’s Life Ban decision will be challenged as his appeal for the decision of the Ethics Committee.
The Former Asian Football Confederation (FAFC) president Mohamed Bin Hammam vows that, he will fight for the life ban from football imposed on him at Saturday’s Fifa Ethics Committee meeting.
The 62-year-old Qatari was handed a lifetime ban for corruption and pertaining to bribery charges in the lead up to the recent FIFA presidential election, which he withdrew from on the eve of the vote.
However, Bin Hammam commented on Twitter account and his personal website that he intends to appeal the life ban. This is just the battle, not the war, Bin Hammam told.
Hammam has rejected the findings and maintain his innocence and will continue to fight through the legal routes available. He is confident of the strength of his case and invites FIFA to make available now to the media a full record of this proceeding.
Bin Hammam’s lawyer, Eugene Galland, told that, the conclusions of the FIFA – Ethics Committee were unsupported and needed to be challenged. Sources revealed.
The FIFA ethics committee has apparently based their conclusion upon so-called ‘circumstantial’ evidence, which his case has clearly confirmed was bogus and founded on lies said by a senior FIFA official. Gulland told.
FIFA is either directly or through third parties, with selective and frequent leaking of records that have been part of these proceedings to the media, influence public view and create bias.
