Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez will be apparently missing next month’s Community Shield and undergoes two weeks out after suffering a brain injury.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that the forward suffered the injury during training ahead of United’s 4-0 victory against the Major League Soccer All-Stars on Wednesday night.
The Mexico international spent Wednesday evening in his lodge room in New Jersey after being released from hospital, having been admitted following training 24 hours preceding.
The Medical staff found no somber damage to ‘Chicharito’, but Sir Alex has confirmed the youngster will not play for the next fort-night, while he will be continuing to train with his team-mates and will remain in the United States for the rest of the club’s pre-season visit.
Sir Alex told that, Javier got concussion (brain injury) in training and we dealt with that. We took him to hospital, and he had a scan, it was all clear now.
He is back in the hotel room. He is in his room and will be out for a couple of weeks.
The youngster striker could never have been available for Barcelona FC anyway because he has just come back from his break after the Gold Cup tournament.
He will travel with us, though. He is okay for that.
Five players in MLS have lately been forced to retire on the suggestion of their doctors after suffering concussion, but Sir Alex released any suggestions that it might do any long-term damage to Javier Hernandez’s career.
