The first league Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona of the 2011-12 Liga season is almost to be postponed as it will clash with the Catalans club World Cup participation.
The largest fixture in Spain and Europe is almost certain to be postponed as it clashes with the Champions League winners’ international obligations.
The much-likely game is held to take place on 11th December, just four days before the European and Spanish champions go in the Club World Cup in Japan.
Based on sources, the match might be rescheduled for Saturday on 10th December, even though Barcelona would have to agree that date.
The Clasico second league will be scheduled on 22nd Apri, 2012, which is around the time of the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Week one of the new Liga campaign will be takes place on 21st Aug with Real Madrid taking on Athletic at the Bernabeu, while Barce are away to Malaga.
The other matches on the day-one are as follows: Villarreal-Sporting, Osasuna-Valencia, Levante-Zaragoza, Espanyol-Granada, Racing-Getafe, Rayo-Mallorca and Real Sociedad-Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, Barcelona and Real Madrid meet in the second leg of the Supercopa on Aug 17, with the game held to kick off at 23:00 CET at Camp Nou.
If the match were to go to extra time and penalties, it would be expected to finish in the early hours of the morning.
