The 2011-12 Premier League season will start on Saturday August 13 and this Friday all the twenty teams will find out their fixtures for the nearing fight.
Manchester United, who have strengthened their title winning team notably with the purchases of Ashley Young and Phil Jones will feat no-one. It is easy to see, why Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad in the Premier League crown in 2012.
Chelsea look to be the foremost challengers and the Blues will undoubtedly benefit from investment during the summer. The signings of David Luiz and Fernando Torres, in January month, signaled Roman Abramovich’s commitment to the club. It would be no surprise to see a tent signing maybe Kaka, move to Stamford Bridge in the coming months.
Liverpool is also running heavily this summer and Kenny Dalglish’s side is starting to take great shape. A title challenge may be somewhat motivated and the Reds will maybe be happy to finish in the top four and get back into the Champions League.
Manchester City achieved this goal last season and now they will be looking to kick on and close the gap on Chelsea and Man United.
Arsenals look the most expected team to drop out of the top four and there are doubts in North London over the future of club captain Cesc Fabregas. The Gunners forward Samir Nasri has being popular by top European clubs, if they were to leave, it could signal a migration from the Emirates Stadium. That would make it almost impractical for the Gunners to keep their place in the top four.
There is similar uncertainty at Tottenham Hotspurs, as they are face a battle to hold onto Gareth Bale and Luka Mordic more than the next three months. They have to keep their stars up now, and make some smart signings. Spurs can challenge the established order but with five clubs ahead of them at the moment.
At the other end of the table there are some other teams, but equally important concerns. QPR, Swansea and Norwich won endorsement to the Premier League last season. All three sides will be filled to follow West Brom and Newcastle United, and avoid the chance of Blackpool, who was relegated in their first season in the top clash.
