An International friendly match between Spain, the current world champion and Venezuela, one of the participants in Copa America 2011 will be held on Tuesday, in the city of Puerto La Cruz going into lockdown.
The International Friendly football match between Venezuela and Spain kicks off 20:30 GMT on 07 June 2011 at Estadio Gen José Anzoatégui.
Spain has been pretty busy playing competitions, and has much less friendly matches. After winning World Cup 2010, the Spanish squad has recorded some shocking friendly losses, with 1-4 score to Argentina in September 2010 and with 0-4 score to Portugal in November 2010.
Since then, the side has three consecutive victories against Lithuania, Colombia and the most recent one played two days ago, against United States, a victory with 4-0 score.
In Euro 2012 Qualification Group I, Spain has taken top position with fifteen points out of five matches, which means that the side also won all qualifier matches.
Venezuela has less than a month to get in most favorable form for Copa America 2011. They will be in the same group with Paraguay, Ecuador and Brazil. The side uses as groundwork a lot of friendly fixtures and has played a total of sixteen friendly matches since February 2010.
Out of those sixteen, only six have been at home ground, and only two have been victories. A match over North Korea, on March 6th 2010, won with 2-1 score, and a match against Ecuador on September 8th 2010, won with 1-0 score.
In the recent fixtures, Venezuela has played a total of five friendly games, winning two, losing one, and drawing two. Victories against, Guatemala and Jamaica with 0-2 score, a loss to Argentina with 1-4 score, and two draws against Mexico and Costa Rica, another two participants in Copa America 2011.
While neither side needs anything out of this match, Venezuela can get a good confidence enhance, with a victory against the world champion.
