This will be the eleventh meeting between Barcelona and Manchester United in all competitions. The record is absolutely balanced with three victories each and four draws. Their earlier ten meetings have seen a grand total of 31 goals with an average of 3.1 per game.

If Manchester Utd manager, Sir Alex Ferguson picks up the title at Wembley, he will join Bob Paisley as the most bedecked boss in the history of the Champions League/European Cup with three victories.

Sir Alex is the third manager to lead a squad to four Champions League/European Cup finals (1999, 2008, 2009, 2011), after Marcello Lippi and Miguel Muñoz.
