Newcastle United will be looking for the first win against the league leaders Manchester United side in almost a decade – on St. James Park on Tuesday.

The English Premier League football match between Newcastle United (11th) and Manchester United (1st) kicks off 18:45 GMT on 19th April 2011.

Newcastle United is very un-predictable side and had lot of ups and downs this season. The Magpies are taking the 10th spot in the table at the moment with 39 points from 32 matches. Their overall record reads W10 D9 L13, scoring 48 goals in those games and conceding 47 in this premiership series.

Newcastle United has played sixteen Premier League matches this season on St James Park. On home ground, Newcastle United has won five, drawn six and lost five matches and this ranked the Magpies 17th in home team performance in the English Premier League.

Newcastle have a big victories like 6-0 against Aston Villa, 5:1 against Sunderland and 5:0 against West Ham to big defeats like 4:0 against Stoke City and 5:1 against Bolton. They have won 3 of the last 10 home games, losing two of the remaining and drawing five and their most recent game against Wolverhampton was a huge victory with 4-1 score.

Newcastle will miss Key midfielder and Captain Kevin Nolan for this game which is a blow. They have won just two of their last seven Premier League games at St James; Park.

Manchester United is coming from semi-final cup loss from their City rivals in that match. The Red Devils are current leader of the table with 69 points in 32 matches. United’s overall record reads W20 D9 L3, scoring 70 goals in those games, and conceding 32 in this series.

Manchester United has played sixteen Premier League matches this season away from home. On away ground, Manchester United has won five, drawn eight and lost three matches and this ranked the Red Devils 4th in away team performance in the English Premier League.

In the earlier match, Arsenal and Liverpool ended with 1-1 score, the difference between the Gunners and United is only six points and 8 points with the Chelsea.

Manchester United has won thirteen of their last sixteen fixtures with Newcastle and they have won the reverse fixture with 3-0 score earlier in the season.

Rooney will be back after suspension, as he will be eager to score and play good game. The Red Devils are undefeated at St James Park for almost ten years.

So, I expect response from all Manchester United players to win this game and to extend their lead.

Possible staring line up:

Newcastle: Harper, Simpson, Coloccini, S.Taylor, Enrique, Gutierrez, Barton, Tiote, Guthrie, Nolan and Lovenkrands.

Manchester United: Van der Sar, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Giggs, Nani, Rooney and Hernandez.
