The English club Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is seemingly a possible transfer bid for Manchester United.
John Obi Mikel (23-year-old) plays as a midfielder for English club Chelsea and the Nigeria national team. Mikel continued to perform with efficiency in his defensive midfield role, as he notched up 32 appearances for the Blues. In May 2010, he has received Premier League and FA Cup winner’s medals as part of Blues double-winning team.
John might be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer and he is set to discuss his future at the club, which has alerted Premier League leaders United.
The Nigeria international was set to move to Old Trafford in 2006 year, after agreeing a deal with his club at the time, FK Lyn of Oslo.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson alleged that, the deal had been completed, but Blues controversially ended up signing the key player, leading to a legal battle between the clubs over the transfer and who first had a deal in place.
Chelsea was ordered to pay Manchester United £12 million for Mikel’s services, as well as a further £4 million to FK Lyn.
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho worked with Obi Mikel, when he was in charge at Chelsea team. They are also believed to have shown interest ahead of an expected major overhaul at the west London club this summer, which is set to see several players sold.
