Australia crashed a massive victory against Germany in the second-half of International Friendly Match on 29th March 2011 at Borussia Park, Germany and the Referee was Stéphane Lannoy (France).

An aggressive Australian side mounted a second-half fight back to record a fantastic victory, as they crashed to a surprise 2-1 defeat at home ground in Moenchengladbach. The vigorous Socceroos, coached by German tactician Holger Osieck and recovered from going behind to Mario Gomez’s opener to exact some revenge for their four-goal defeat in the group stages of the last World Cup.

The Socceroos amazed their hosts with two fabulous goals in four second-half minutes, first through Blackpool left-back David Carney at 61st minute and then a Luke Wilkshire sent the ball straight down the middle, the penalty spot in 64th minute after Sven Bender, to claim their first ever win over the Europeans.

Germany remained unflustered and patiently built attack after attack from Schuerrle picked out Mario Gomez and the Bundesliga’s leading scorer found the top corner with a superb goal in the 26th minute from just inside the penalty box.

Lukas Podolski sparked a couple of free-kicks wide, as Germany required a second goal. While Australia’s best chance, before the break saw Jedinak head a corner straight at Wiese.

The Germans are next in action at the end of May 2011. When, they host fellow World Cup semi-finalists Uruguay in a friendly match. Australia will come up a friendly with Serbia in early June 2011.

However, Germany struggled to create and Australia held on for a historic win.
