Slovenia and Italy For UEFA 2012 European Qualifying Group C Game

Slovenia will be hosting West, Italy in Euro 2012 Championship Qualifying Group C match kick-off at 19:45 on March 25, 2011 at Petrol Arena.

The condition in this group is very much exciting, as Italy leading the group with 10 points from four games and Slovenia side have only 3 points behind with 7 points from four games so far. Both, Slovenia and Italy side’s were in WC 2010, but both the squad did not make it out of the group stage.

Slovenia is currently taking the second position with seven points with a record of won two, drawn one and loss one. Slovenia lost their opening first match in this group at home ground against Northern Ireland with 0-1 score. But, they were able to record two victories and a draw later.

They failed to start the Slovenian side could re-group and grabbed an important draw came against Serbia (1-1) as away visitor point. The two wins came against relatively easy opponents, after that overcoming the Faroe Islands with 5-1 at home and Estonia 1-0 at away ground. An exciting fact is that Slovenia’s record against Italy reads as won one, drawn one and loss zero.

Italy team is the current leader in the group with 10 points and currently at first spot with 10 points with a record of won three, drawn one and loss zero.

The team has a three victories and a draw away from home, stating with the 2-1 away win against Estonia following a remarkable 5-0 fabulous victory against Faroe Island at home ground and another goalless draw at Belfast against Northern Ireland.

The team has gained three points from the forfeit home game against Serbia at Genoa, sending them right to the top. So, it comes that they have 10 points from two wins and a draw.

The last time Italy was here at Euro qualification in 1994, when the game ended draw. However, Italy came here back in 2004 for a World Cup qualification, a game lost with 0-1.

I expect another draw or a minimal 1-0 victory of Italy and I believe that Italy will not lose this match. However, this match seems to be a tight one and the result could go either way.
