Stuart Holden ruled out of CONCACAF Gold Cup

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden has been ruled out for six months and will miss June’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. As a result of the knee injury that required surgery and has been sustained in a challenge on Saturday.
Stuart Holden was rushed to hospital, as he was hurt his left knee in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Manchester United in the Premier League. A tackle from united defender Jonny Evans, which drew a red card, left him with a nasty gash that required surgery.
Holden traveled to London on Monday for surgery, adding that Jonny Evans called him to apologize.
Holden was given 26 stitches to close the wound and X-rays confirmed that he had pass up a break, but also underwent an MRI check to find out, if he had suffered any muscular or ligament damage to his left knee.
Bolton Wanderers have now held the midfielder, who had extended spell on the sidelines last season following a tackle from Manchester City’s Nigel de Jong. He will be out for six months significance that he misses United States’ Gold Cup campaign in June 2011.
Holden will be going through surgery in London on Monday. Bolton manager Owen Coyle stated that our main worry is for Stuart and his speedy recovery. He will be getting all the time and support that he needs from the club.
Holden has been outstanding in this League season and has shown in his performances that he is one of the best midfielders in the English Premier League. He has such aspiration, strength of character and a winning attitude and will draw on all those aspects in his treatment.
Stuart Holden has missed two months last season, because of a broken leg but he was well again in time to play at the World Cup.
