The UEFA Champions 2nd Leg match between Real Madrid and Olympique Lyon kicks off at 19:45 GMT on 16th March 2011 – Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid.

Real Madrid has to win this match to get in through the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League last 16 second-leg clash over Lyon today night.

Real Madrid has faced Lyonnais seven times in the Champions League, but they have yet to win. They have not lost or drawn a home match this season and will be apprehensive to sustain that great record. However, Madrid has an away goal after the 1-1 draw in the first leg.

From the last six years, Madrid’s have been gone out of the European League in the round of 16 stage and the last season they went out by Los Galacticos. As a coach, Jose Mourinho has lost only four of his 39 Champions League home matches.

Olympique Lyonnais is currently going through the longest run among the sides in the last 16 stage, as they have not won their last four Champions League matches. Les Gones have unsuccessful to keep a clean sheet in their last eight away matches in the Champions League.

Lyon has played thirteen France Ligue 1 matches this season away from home. On away ground, Lyon has won five, drawn four and lost four matches and this ranked Les Gones (The Kids) 4th in away team performance in the France Ligue 1.

No French club side has ever won over Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League/European Cup. But they have drawn in all three of their earlier trip to the Spanish capital.
