Tottenham Hotspur has secured their way to the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League, after playing with AC Milan to a tough fight goalless draw at White Hart Lane, England.
AC Milan‘s travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League left a disappointed taste for many football fans. Especially the Milan’s fans as being the favorite in this game, Coach Massimiliano Allegri put out a rather negative performance leading to a boring stalemate fixture.
A marvelously strong defensive play added with an extra luck and pretty much becomes Harry Redknapp squad’s weapon in picking up the 0-0 draw. They are pretty much needed as chances from Alexandre Pato and Robinho could truly blown their chances in moving ahead to the next round.
Perhaps with good reason given its relative success, Spurs main exit was long, sloping balls onto the head of Peter Crouch. With Rafael Van der Vaart buzzing around the bean pole striker, this candor nearly came off a couple of times.
Despite the quick start from Spurs, Milan’s settled hastily and began to read out much of the play, with Clarence Seedorf, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Robinho probing the Spurs defence with searching through balls.
Coach Herry Redknapp stated, it is been quite a first campaign in the Champions League and we March is still on. It is great for the Spurs club, great for everyone and great for the fans.
Spurs first year in the Champions League and that to qualify for this is a fantastic success in itself.
Final Score: Chelsea, 3 and Blackpool, 1
Referee: F. De Bleeckere
