2010 FIFA World Cup: According to the Spain national team doctor, Andres Iniesta has suffering with minor thigh injury.
Andres Iniesta was rested in the 39th minute of Spain’s 6-0 victory against Poland on Tuesday. Iniesta was also ruled out for several matches in the La Liga season due to thigh injury. However, assisted in scoring the Spain’s first two goals against Poland. Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso are together scored one goal each.
“As he wasn’t comfortable, we made the change – it’s a minor muscle injury. We will calmly carry out tests, but we can initially rule out any muscle tear. It’s a minor injury, but we have to take precautions.” said Dr Oscar Celada.
Andres Iniesta didn’t play full match for Spain since February 2009 and will undergo tests again on Wednesday.
Spain will face Switzerland, Honduras and Chile in Group H. In their first match of 2010 Football World Cup Spain will meet Switzerland on 16 June.
