France confirmed to host Euro 2016

France kicked-off Turkey and Italy in the competition of hosting the European Championship in 2016.
Earlier, France host the European Championship in the years 1960 and 1984. France defeated Turkey with just a single vote, while Italy was eliminated in the first round of voting. In Euro 2016, 24 countries are participating and will play 51 matches for one month.
Michel Platini, UEFA president was captained for the European Championship 1984 winning team.Michel Platini told that he faced some difficult situation, he is French, but of Italian parentage and enjoyed while with Juventus.
“It was not an easy situation for me – I am French, my name is Italian and I have many friends in Turkey. But Uefa has proved once again that we have democracy.” said Michel Platini, UEFA president.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy and former France soccer star, Zinedine Zidane backed their country’s event in a presentation to Uefa’s ruling executive in Geneva on Friday.
