Rio FerdinandFor 2010 Football World Cup, it is clear that Rio Ferdinand is undoubtedly prepared to join team England. After his back injury, now he is gearing up to face the battle.

Rio Ferdinand played only 21 matches in this season with Manchester United due to back injury. After getting permission from the team management, Rio Ferdinand will act as England captain for their match against United States on 12th June in the 2010 Football World Cup. Rio Ferdinand is playing in his fourth World Cup campaign.

Twelve years ago, Rio Ferdinand was an extra player in the France soccer team where England lost against Argentina in the second round on penalties. After that, he played for England in the 2002 and 2006 World Cup’s. In these two World Cup’s, England knocked out in the quarterfinals round against Brazil and Portugal. Now, his experience will be very helpful for England in the upcoming 2010 Football World Cup.

However, England has their own hopes on star player, Wayne Rooney. England star player, David Beckham is missing the 2010 Football World Cup due to injury.
