Bayern Munich star player, Franck Ribery ruled out from Champions League final against Inter Milan. Franck Ribery banned for three matches. Franck Ribery missed the second league of semi-final where they won with 3-0 against Lyon.
Bayern Munich management has appeal against three-match ban but, rejected. Franck Ribery received a straight red for a tackle on Lyon’s Lisandro Lopez. Bayern Munich strongly believed that UEFA can reduce the ban to one game. The final match will be on 22nd May and this ban will continue until the first European match of next season.
“Franck Ribery as well as our in-house counsel Dr Gerlinger has in my view put an impressive case to the court that we are not dealing with violent conduct but merely a foul,” said Bayern Munich club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
“The committee rated this case as a borderline case. Nevertheless the three-person committee unfortunately did not follow FC Bayern’s plea. We are very disappointed by this judgment and still cannot comprehend that this foul was judged as violent conduct.†he added.
