Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez feels that Manchester United player Antonio Valencia dived for penalty which leads to win 2-1 for Manchester United.
Fernando Torres put Liverpool ahead before Javier Mascherano was ruled to have fouled Valencia and Manchester United star player Wayne Rooney scored goal from his spot-kick.
“The way he fell down is strange. When you see the replay it is suspicious how he went to the ground,” Liverpooll coach Rafael Benitez told.
Manchester United defeat Liverpool with 2-1 score on Sunday. Manchester United reached the top position in the table and destroyed Liverpool’s hopes of securing fourth place in the table and the final Champions League spot.
Liverpool coach Benitez feels that the penalty was the turning point of the match. “We gave away the penalty too early – but there are doubts about the penalty,” he added. “The penalty made a big difference. We were playing well and had confidence and then one situation changed everything.”
